Holy Toads

Not only do we have turtles in Texas but we also have toads. Jay found the first ones over 2 months ago. That day it took Jay about 30 minutes to get Bubba to even touch the toad. Now he can't keep his hands off of them.
We see them outside the apartment complex almost nightly. We made a deal with the kids that once they catch one they can keep it until the following night. One night the kids caught 8!! Since then we have had to limit it to one toad a piece. On another occasion we were walking on the grass and I stepped in something squishy. We looked to see what I stepped on and the kids realized it was a toad. What a gross feeling.
To date the boys have caught a couple dozen. We have never seen so many toads. The boys sure are going to miss them as we don't have any in ID.

Petland

We heard about this cool pet store that is here in Lewisville. The kids and I went and checked it out today. The store has all sorts of animals and lets you pet and hold them. The boys picked out a little brown chihuahua that they just had to hold. After they were done holding the puppy Jayden wanted to hold a bird. He picked one up and it crawled up his arm were it rested on his shoulder and started biting him. Jayden started freaking out at that point. After the bird was put back we headed over to the bunnies. Bubba liked holding the bunny until it started scratching him. After he had enough of that we moved over to the fish and turtles. Jayden was excited to see some Red-eared Slider's. Jayden then checked out the Hermit Crab's. He loved the painted shells. The Super Man shell was his favorite. We also saw snakes, lizards, hamsters, ferrets, etc.
This is by far the coolest pet store we have ever been in. We plan on visiting again. The kids can't wait to play with the puppies again.

Lewisville Lake

The boys have been bugging me to take Sykes to the park since I got my Jeep back yesterday. Then I promised Jay that I would take him to the lake today. The boys and I ventured to Lewisville Lake. It cost us $10 to get in. What an expensive outing. Oh well, it was worth it.
As soon as I opened my door Skyes jumped right out and headed straight for the water. Well he got too close to a family and the mother freaked out because "that's a pit bull". Oh please! We found our little spot and let the fun begin.
The boys had fun throwing the tennis ball and letting Sykes bring it back. Sykes definitely got his workout. Soon the boys would throw the ball and go swim with Sykes to get it. Sometimes Sykes would just let the boys get it. And of course Sykes found the fish skeleton on the grassy area and had to roll all over it.
After Sykes was worn out we loaded up in the car. I then realized that we were all covered in sand. So much for having a clean car. Once we got home all of the boys got a bath (including Sykes).

Our Little Rock Band

We brought our Wii and Rock Band with us this summer and have now started up our own little band. Jay just bought the AC DC track pack so of course we all had to stay up late playing it. I was laughing so hard cuz Dan really got into the singing.

The Tent

Jay and I are cruel parents. We make our kids sleep in a closet. Once Jeff moved in the second bedroom the kids moved into our bedroom closet.
One day I decided to spice up their room and build them a tent. I gathered together some wire and a sheet and got a little creative. The end result was two happy boys.
