Bye Taz

Taz went to her new home today. We decided it would be better to find a home for her than leaving home while we are gone for the summer.
I am really missing her. I got attached to her. She has been gone for several hours and I keep looking for her but have to remind myself she is gone.
She must have thought I was her mom because she would follow me all around the house, even into the bathroom. She would try to pry the bathroom door open with her paws. She always took my spot in bed and laid by Jay. Boy did he love that. He says he hates cats but he would pet, hold and play with her. I think he was getting a little soft.
After Taz left Colton started crying because he missed her already. The boys had so much fun playing, holding and cuddling with her. This is the third kitten that we have gotten attached to and gave to new homes.
Bye Taz, we will miss you. We just have to remember that you are at a good home.

Sledding

Two weeks ago my sister invited the boys and I to go sledding with her ward. We went by the church farm in Ririe, not to far from our house. The weather was perfect, not too cold. We played for a couple of hours. Some of the guys in Kristeen's ward brought snowmobiles so that we didn't have to climb up the hills. Thank heavens because I am so out of shape. We sure did miss not having dad there with us. Colton had no fear which suprised me. Both of the boys were crusing down the hill and getting right back to the top. Thanks Kris for inviting us. We had alot of fun.

"Goat"

This is Goat. He is a Nigerian Dwarf Goat. He is one of the many family pets. Jay got him for his birthday 2 1/2 years ago from my sister and dad. Jay has always wanted a goat and wanted to name it Goat. I always thought he was kind of crazy for wanting a goat.

I wanted to post him on my blog as we about lost him this winter. Who would have thought I would get so attached to a dumb goat. Well I did and hated every minute of him being sick. The dummy decided to eat his bedding made of pellets. Well we all know what happens to pellets when they get wet. Yep they swell up! To bad the dumb goat didn't figure that one out. Well just imagine all those expanded pellets in Goat's little stomach. I am very grateful that we were able to get treatment and get him better. It sure wasn't an easy process. I even had to force him to drink water from a turkey baster. I felt desperate and couldn't think of another way to get him to drink. I want to thank Jay and Grandpa Durrant for all they did to help get Goat feeling better.

So back on a happy note. Goat is back to his old self. We have had so much fun with him and have so many funny stories of things he has done. Here are just a few. I will try adding more later.

1) Goats will eat anything and I mean anything.
One day my nephew, Conner, decided to go out to his truck to show Bubba something he got from preschool. He opened the door and Goat immediately hopped right in. I guess the first thing he went for was one of Conner's preschool papers. In the mean time Conner came running in the house telling us that Goat was in the truck. We didn't believe him at first. Well unfortunately Conner was telling the truth. Kris ran out there trying to pull goat out. There was quite a struggle. By the time she got him out he had eaten half of Conner's paper. He still had some in his mouth and was chomping on it as fast as he could. I watched all this from inside. I laughed so hard.

2) Goats will jump up onto anything that is just the right size.
Goat just loves the cool playground equipment we have hanging around. It even includes our junky car. He will hop right up and sit on the roof and sun bath. He is in heaven.

Goat likes to play. Sometimes a little too rough!
That was a close call. Good thing Jayden is quick.
Check out the size of those horns!
