red ryder

this year for christmas my dad got both of the boys red ryder bb guns. they have been wanting bb guys for quite some time now but jay and i have been hesitant. boys and bb guns can be a little scary if you know what i mean! jayden caught right on but colton gets impatient and gives up. the boys love shooting with their dad, grandpa durrant and uncle dan'l. the weather has been really cold lately and shooting practice doesn't last more than 15 minutes.

our little peanut

i had to have another ultrasound to make sure everything was ok with our baby. this time i had the boys with me and they were pretty excited to get to see the baby.
when i was pregnant with the boys i had morning sickness but it wasn't too terribly bad but this baby is kicking my butt! my morning sickness started to kick in towards the end of last semester so it is going to be interesting to see how this semester of school goes.
we should be able to find out the sex of the baby either the end of this month or the first of next month. my dad keeps telling me that it is going to be girl. we will see if his instincts are right.

little peanut

here is a picture of our little peanut who is 9 weeks old. we are all very excited about the newest member of our little family. jayden and colton are trying to be helpful by coming up with possible baby names. a lot of the names are from the cartoons they watch.

idaho falls airshow

our family had the opportunity to go to our very first airshow. we heard the blue angels were coming to town a couple of months ago and got our tickets as soon as they were available. our friends, catherine and navarre, came up from utah to visit and were able to join our family at the airshow. jay decided that we needed to be early and arrived about 30 minutes before the gates opened. as soon as we got through the gate we went and got our chairs set up close to the runway. we then were able to walk around and look at the the aircraft that was on display. the boys were super excited when they found out they could get in the driver/passenger seats of some of the vehicles/aircraft.

spring in idaho

this is what i woke up to this morning. i was a little upset at first because the previous day was such a gorgeous day but then was quite content with the beautiful pictures i took outside in my yard. i'm glad i took them first thing this morning because by afternoon all the snow had melted.

easter morning

the kids were so excited to go down to grandma's house to see what the easter bunny had brought them. once they saw their baskets they torn right into them. they really loved getting their own basketballs. aunt karen also gave them a little goody bag full of yummy easter treats.

easter this year fell on general conference. the kids weren't thrilled about watching. they went outside and played with their new balls while the grownups listed to some of the talks. it was a beautiful easter morning considering the day before was a blizzard!

easter eggs

it has been a tradition to color easter eggs with the boys. they were chomping at the bit when i told them we were going to color eggs. they did pretty good as only one egg got dropped on the floor. bubba immediately decided he needed to eat it because he dropped it. they could have colored eggs for hours but they didn't get to because i only boiled about a dozen eggs. after all the eggs were colored they wanted to eat them all gone!

april fools

boy did we get fooled today. here we think we are supposed to have spring weather since it's the first day of april. but oh no, instead we get about 2 inchs of snow. it's still snowing so we could wake up to even more in the morning.

i was being nice and drove down the road to my in-laws to pick up missy. she will sometimes stay the night at our house but for the most part she likes to stay with the grandparents 99% of the time. last winter they would call me and tell me to come pick up my dog because it was so cold in her dog house. i did it a few times and then decided that if the dog really wants to sleep inside she can walk her butt home.

jayden's new bike

jayden has been long over due for a new bike for a couple of years now. grandma and grandpa durrant stopped by the house to suprise jayden with a new bike. grandma however came up with a contract that jayden has to abide by in order to keep his new bike.
1. he has to teach bubba how to ride his old bike.
2. he has to read to grandma everyday (except sunday) for 20 minutes.
3. he has to quickly obey when he is asked to do something by an adult.
she had quite the list going. i can't remember the rest. jayden was excited because his bike looks just like logan's bike. jayden tried to give bubba a pump but bubba didn't want to try. give him some time and i think he will give in.

the trampoline

the boys were outside jumping on the trampoline. i looked outside to check on them and noticed that dusty had jumped up there with them. i have never seen a dog jump up on a trampoline. dusty practically follows jayden wherever he goes so it was bound to happen. and yes we decided to keep her. we never found her owner and the boys fell absolutely in love with her. it would have broken their hearts if we would have gotten rid of her.

last year

i am trying to be better about posting. i am posting pictures from last year and putting them in the date they took place. so you will have to go back to november and december to see pictures from thanksgiving, jayden's baptism, christmas, etc.

up on the house top

goat was hanging out on the top of his house. he loves to climb up on anything. yesterday it snowed and you could tell he wasn't very happy. i think he is ready for spring like the rest of us!

dusty

a couple of weeks ago there was this stray dog that was roaming around the neighborhood. well one of jay's scouts down the road brought her to our house wanting to know what to do with her. we chained her up and fed her so we could see if we could find her owner. we have since named her dusty because her tail is so fluffy and like a duster. the boys have fallen in love with her. the boys also love to race with dusty. we made up a sign and haven't had any luck finding her owner. still not sure what we are going to do with her.

i like mountain dew

jay has a new student. he has taught emily to say " i like moutain dew" and then gives her a treat. we have gotten a lot of laughs from this.

the tunnel

the boys found a fabulous place to play. they have played there for hours. it is in the ditch that runs along the front of our yard. the boys really really wanted emily to go in the tunnel with them. she didn't last very long because she got scared because of the "bad guys" hanging in the tunnel.
