Happy Birthday Jayden

Today is Jayden's 8th birthday. We celebrated his birthday before we left for Texas. He doesn't quite understand why he doesn't get any presents today. To top it off it's Jay's first day of installing so we really didn't get to do anything together as a family. I will make him a cake and take him to McDonald's for a Happy Meal. Lastly, we will have Jayden baptized when we get back to Idaho.

Watch for Rattlesnakes

We stopped at a rest area in Texas a couple hours before we arrived here in Lewisville. They had a sign stating "Watch for Rattlesnakes." Boy was that comforting.

Squirt

Jay caught his first turtle last week. His name is Squirt. We have him at the office. He now lives in a kiddy pool on the balcony. Jay was so excited and so were the boys. Jay is hoping to catch more turtles to add to his collection. I didn't realize the turtles would be so big. It sure has been fun playing with the turtle.

Hello Texas

We made it to Texas safe and sound. It is really hot I don't know how I am going to survive the summer. Our apartment is really nice. And we have a pool! The boys have aleady gone swimming. Behind the apartments is a little creek with turtles. Jay is determined to catch one. He even bought a fish net. He wasn't fast enough to catch them today.

Happy Birthday Colton

My baby turned 5 today. Boy does time fly by. It seems just yesterday he was a baby.
He got to have a little party at preschool and was very excited to take cupcakes to his classmates. He came home with a birthday hat from his teacher. Dang he is cute.

Bye Taz

Taz went to her new home today. We decided it would be better to find a home for her than leaving home while we are gone for the summer.
I am really missing her. I got attached to her. She has been gone for several hours and I keep looking for her but have to remind myself she is gone.
She must have thought I was her mom because she would follow me all around the house, even into the bathroom. She would try to pry the bathroom door open with her paws. She always took my spot in bed and laid by Jay. Boy did he love that. He says he hates cats but he would pet, hold and play with her. I think he was getting a little soft.
After Taz left Colton started crying because he missed her already. The boys had so much fun playing, holding and cuddling with her. This is the third kitten that we have gotten attached to and gave to new homes.
Bye Taz, we will miss you. We just have to remember that you are at a good home.

Sledding

Two weeks ago my sister invited the boys and I to go sledding with her ward. We went by the church farm in Ririe, not to far from our house. The weather was perfect, not too cold. We played for a couple of hours. Some of the guys in Kristeen's ward brought snowmobiles so that we didn't have to climb up the hills. Thank heavens because I am so out of shape. We sure did miss not having dad there with us. Colton had no fear which suprised me. Both of the boys were crusing down the hill and getting right back to the top. Thanks Kris for inviting us. We had alot of fun.
