He's the Man

Jay has been working in Washington along the Columbia River for about a month now. My dad got him the job so he could earn some extra cash this winter. Jay is working about 10 hour days 7 days a week assembling windmills. Here are some pictures that he took from his cell phone. It is amazing how big they are. Jay said the windmills are 300 feet tall when completely assembled. He also mentioned that the screws they use are as big as his arm! He hasn't been able to go to the top but said he would rather be safe on the ground and risk not falling and hurting himself. I don't blame him.
Luckily he will get to come home for Christmas. After Christmas he will go back and probably work till the end of January. Then he when he gets home he will be focusing on getting his crew together for this summer. I am excited to see where we will end up spending our summer this coming year.
I am grateful to Jay for making this sacrifice for our family. The boys and I can't wait to have him home!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. We had dinner at our house. So here's the list of family that came: my sister and her family; my dad,Vicky and even Matt and Tyler; my Grandma and Grandpa Wells; Jay's parents and Karen; lastly, Dan'L and Brandelyne. We had a pretty big group and I think things went very well. It's so nice that both Jay and my family get along and we are able to do things together.
The night before Thanksgiving my sister called our Grandma Wells to see what she and Grandpa were doing for Thanksgiving. She told her that they didn't have anywhere to go and they were just going to go out to eat. Kris told her that they should come out to Ririe for dinner. I am so glad that my sister had thought to call grandma and grandpa and I am so grateful that I was able to give them a place to go for Thanksgiving.
So during dinner everyone found places to sit. However, my dad went to the kid's table. We insisted that he sit with the grown ups but he wanted to sit with his grandsons instead. The boys thought that was pretty cool that grandpa sat with them!
The day before Thanksgiving I was thinking of all the things I am grateful for. I am truly grateful for my kids. The other night I was feeling down and Colton kept coming into my room and bugging me. I was so grateful that he was there to cheer me up. I am also so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. I feel fortunate that he was able to come home for Thanksgiving. The time went by to fast and can't wait till he comes home just before Christmas. I am grateful for all that he does for our family and the sacrifices that he makes. I am also grateful to be close to our families. It was hard being away from family this summer while we were in New Jersey. Lastly I am thankful for all my friends. I am lucky to have the friends that I have made. My friends mean a lot to me and help me get through the day.

First entry

So I am finally getting my blog started. I really wanted to get one started this summer while we were living in New Jersey. It would have been so nice because my family could have had access to pictures of the boys and see what kind of fun they were having. My sister just got hers up and running so I decided I should follow suit. I hope I can keep up on it and not get behind. I tend to do that a lot!
